If we hadn’t sent D’s aunt to the airport at 5:30am in the morning we wouldn’t have got to experience what Post-Thankgiving Sale is like - after dropping Auntie at the airport, we headed to Hillsdale Shopping Center - it was quiet, and Macy’s not opened yet - so we went to Best Buy - there was already a long, long line outside the store - it was 6 am - unbelievable. When we made it to the store, everyone was scurrying about, like on a mission. We were green at this - where to go, which isle to “attack” first, etc etc. D wanted to get a plasma TV, but those weren’t on sale. I was looking for a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and the Network Adapter for PS2, but those weren’t on sale also. Phooey. DVDs were the hot items, we ended up getting a 13″ TV/DVD combo and a few DVDs. The checkout line stretched right around the store, and sales people were handing out candy for the people waiting in line. heh.

Guess where we went after BestBuy? Fry’s of course! It was electronics day. I got a vacuum cleaner for more than half the price, and a shredder for 10 bucks. The line was long too, but there were about 60 cashiers open so it was pretty fast.

I’m now playing Spyro the Dragon PS2 on my new 13″ TV. :)

Ok, the turkey thing is done. How’s everyone feeling? So here’s my Thanksgiving Day story:-

D’s aunt dropped by last weekend and we went San Francisco on Thanksgiving Day. We had our turkey soaked in brine the night before, so it’ll be ready for roasting in the evening.

The time we took to drive to SF was a mere 30 minutes. Pretty awesome, huh. It was easy to get curbside parking too. We went to the Golden Gate Bridge - the sky was clear, no fog at all, which meant that we could take great pics of the GG bridge.

We drove back at 5pm and popped the turkey into the oven. D made Seafood Pasta Salad and I made Shepherd’s Pie. 2 and a half hours later, we had our Thanksgiving Dinner. :) So that was our day.

This is what all pet-related forums should be like - overflowing with members eager to share their stories and share tips about their favorite pets. I wish my ratlover forum could grow to be like this. Most importantly, everyone’s friendly and treat each other with respect. I stumbled upon this site while researching the Italian Greyhound as a prospective pet in the near future.

I was at the vet this morning and it was packed with dogs. Gordon Setter, German Shepherd, Schnauzers, and then I saw a French Bulldog. I’m not too sure if it was the ears or the intelligent face, but I was drawn instantly to this girl bully. She wasn’t fidgety like the rest of the dogs, but observed the goings-on with intent eyes - she looked so intelligent, ok don’t ask me how I know, but I just felt that in her eyes. Now my decision to get an Italian Greyhound is not so much a sure thing anymore. I’m having second thoughts - maybe I should get a French Bulldog. I just love those batty ears. Now it seems there’s a breeder in San Mateo that breeds Frenchies, maybe I’ll give it a shot. Anyone here slaves of Frenchies? Are they messy dogs? Boy I need to do more research into the breed. Laters.

We bought a turkey last Saturday, and it’s thawing in the fridge as we speak. I have a slight clue on how to prepare it, but I’ve still yet to find the recipe for roasting that darn bird. hehhe …

Ok, Thanksgiving is not only about the turkey … its about the ham too … hahah .. no, seriously, I’d like to thank for following people for making me who I am today:
Mom, Dad, and my brother. I love you guys and miss you all. We live so far apart, and I treasure the weekly Saturday night phonecalls, just catching up on the week’s happenings.

Doug, my sweetheart, you have always been there for me. I know at times I take you for granted, but I love you so so much, you know that. ;) If there is such a thing as soulmates in this world, you are my soulmate, and if there is more than one soulmate for everyone in the world, just know that you are my first one heheh …

Mich - Macs Da Bomb and Catie’s one hot chick. Thanks for listening to my rants and reading my blog.

All my friends back home, all my friends over here - thank you for putting up with me. I don’t have many friends (being anti-social and all), but you guys are the greatest!

Life isn’t complete without some furry/scaly four legged friends to share your life with. Ginny, my bull terrier who is in Singapore with my folks, Schlepp and Otter, my Dumbo rats, Spanky the leopard gecko (you don’t come out often, but I know you are thinking of me), the Spunky Rats (R.I.P.), Cricket (R.I.P.) … good times.

Now back to the turkey …

You just gotta love CNET news for posting news for the masses. Seems that a Norwegian programmer dude, Jon Johansen, “… posted a small program called QTFairUse to his Web site, with little in the way of instruction and even less explanation. But during the next few days, it became clear that the program served as a demonstration of how to evade, if not exactly break, the anticopying technology wrapped around the songs sold by Apple in its iTunes store.”

What do I think? There’s bigger fish to fry. (Am I making any sense?)

Yes, boys and girls, it’s time once again for Otter’s monthly trip to the vet for her tooth trimmed. Let me check the last time it was done …. Oct 28th, wow, less than a month - her tooth is growing fast. I can see her lower incisor just lifting her right lip - she looks like she’s smirking all the time. heheh, ahhh .. poor baby.

Ahh … I woke up at 6am today. Don’t ask. Anyway yesterday we went to McCarthy Ranch to do some shopping, and I gotta get crickets for Spanky as well. I got myself the new Tori Amos CD - Tales of a Librarian, which is a compilation of her greatest hits, chosen by her, I think. I’m a so-so fan of Tori, loved her haunting tunes, and great voice. Here’s an excerpt from Amazon - “… Sixteen of her most popular songs…plus two re-recorded rarities and two brand-new tracks heard here for the very first time. Twenty songs in all — plus a bonus DVD featuring three newly filmed live songs, and two additional Remixed 5.1 Audio Tracks — forging the first-ever definitive Tori Amos Collection.”

I was trying to look to see if the new I-Ninja game is available, but, no luck - BestBuy doesn’t have it.

What I’m REALLY looking forward to is the new album by the Pet Shop Boys! Oh yeah, on November 24th, their new album, Pop Art, will be released in the UK. No news yet on the US release though. I’m deliberating as to whether or not I should get the IMPORT, which, on Amazon is $42 bucks. jeez.

Yes I’ve created a wishlist at Bernie’s Wish, provided by Text America. Nothing there yet at the moment, but It’ll be filled with stuff soon! :)
So how was the weekend, guys?

I bought my bug 3 years ago, and now I’m feeling the itch to get a new car … I’m torn between the Mazda RX8, Infiniti G35 Coupe or maybe a BMW Z4? Ahh …

I’m blogging a little less often lately, don’t know why - can’t think of anything to talk about, complain, rant etc etc.

Oh, I remember now, yesterday I almost made roadkill out of a squirrel. That little fella was running “frogger-style” across the road and from the corner of my eye I saw a brown thing approaching me. I slowed down, so did the cars in front of me. He made it to the middle section, and I thought, “I’m sure he’ll run back again …” and before I could finish my thought, sure enough, he started running back! Good thing I anticipated that, so I braked a little harder this time. I didn’t hear any cracking bones or thud, so I guess that squirrel’ll live for another day to tell the tale to his friends, until he does something crazy like this again!

I’m totally hooked on SSX3 now. It takes a while getting used to the change from previous SSX games, but once I’m warmed up, this game rocks! Upcoming games I would definitely get are: I-Ninja, Whiplash, and Gran Turismo 4.

That just about sums up the weekend so far. Cold, and wet. Yesterday we went to PETsMART so that I could get a heated night light for Spanky, my leopard gecko. At the same time we got crickets. Now Spanky’s tank is not so cold anymore.

My female betta died today. I flushed her down the toilet. :(
*Yawn* I’d better get some sleep. I’ll talk more when I wake up. Goodnight.

We dropped by Safeway tonight to get milk and stuff, and there, right next to the milk, was my favorite holiday drink - eggnog! I’m an eggnog lover, I could have eggnog anytime in the year, and when you add Kahlua to it … Mmm Mmm Mmm! I’ve found my coffee substitute, well, for now.

D’s not feeling too well, he needs more rest. Too much work recently.

Schlepp, the ever shy one of my two rats, gave in to a photo shoot today while they were out for a little romp in the living room. She’s a doll :) Take a look.

41 degrees this morning. It’s COLD!
