Let’s Talk Last Weekend
It was one of the more fulfilling weekends I’ve had in months. On Saturday we took a drive up to Brentwood for some fruit picking. Man those nectarines and plums are so sweet and juicy, it was awesome. We ended up buying about 9 pounds of fruit home. On our drive there we passed Clover’s first home (Oakley). I used to hate driving inland, I don’t know maybe its the hot weather, but ever since we got Clover from there, it wasn’t so bad anymore.
We got to attend our very first Asian American wedding in San Francisco, the wedding of my ex-coworker. Most of the activities are similar to what we had in Singapore, but they got to play games during the dinner, which was really fun. Wish we had thought of that for our wedding ![]()
I’ve been dreaming about beautifying our backyard even since we moved to this new place, and on Sunday we went to Payless Nursery on King in San Jose, to see the plants they have. We fell in love with Japanese Maple, and just had to have a couple in our backyard. But we didn’t get any on Sunday. Instead, on Monday, the landscaper called and told us that they would be able to start work on the yard the very next day, which was great news, since they had previously told us that we had to wait till July. We just picked out two Japanese Maples yesterday, and this morning, they will be planted in our yard! I’m excited.
I wonder if there are any nurseries nearby in Milpitas, even though Payless is great but its kinda far. I know there is one in Redwood City, where I work, and there’s the Regan Nursery in Fremont, that’s about it.
