Have you started listening to podcasts? Doug says he doesn’t like it coz they are too “noisy”, and he much prefers regular radio. It’s alright for me. Right now the podcasts I’m into are TWiT, Digg Nation, and the Dawn and Drew Show. If you are new to podcasts and want to find out more, here are some links to help you:
Podcast Alley - A great selection of podcasts from different genres
iPodder.org - Another good podcast directory
You can also download podcasts from the iTunes Music Store.
Today is the first day of Fall, and it also marks the 100-day countdown to my little baby girl being born. Exciting day. She’s been kicking me more often now, but I can’t pin point the exact times she does that, only that it makes me wanna go pee more often. LOL.
Went to Golfsmith last evening and I got myself the most expensive club in my bag yet - Taylor Made V Steel FW #3. Can’t wait to try out this baby.

Saw this on kottke.org - Google has a blog search now - http://blogsearch.google.com/. If you do a search on “bernie”, my blog appears on the 4th page. Not too bad. And most Bernies are male. HAH.
I caught a repeat of the “Big Break IV” on The Golf Channel last night and it was fun to watch - reality TV for golf nuts. I still don’t have any favorites yet, but the European team seemed more composed and mellower compared to the American team. Last night’s episode was just introductions to the teams and a friendly match between them. Starting next episode the golfer who loses gets eliminated, until one remains. Golf Nuts - check it out!
I was curious to see what Martha would talk about on her new talk show on NBC at 3pm, and got a season pass on my TiVo. Saw one episode last night and I tell ya, it was soooo boring. Give me Ellen any time.
We hit 9 holes at the Fremont Park Golf Course last Saturday, and then Pin High yesterday. The weather was great - the sun was up, but it was windy as well. I lost two of my precious Callaway balls on Pin High, which was a bummer, but I think I’m going to get a dozen of those Callaway logo overruns from Golfsmith this week. I didn’t really keep score of my games, coz many a hole I hit over the stroke limit of 10. On the bright side, at this rate, I could only get better.
Apple’s done it again - come up with a new iPod model that I’m TEMPTED to get. I’ve managed to fight off the temptation a few times, but this time, with the iPod nano, I’m getting weak. This thing is sooo small, I can’t believe it. Just saw the webcast special and when Steve introduced the iPod nano, he took it out from the coin pocket of his jeans! Unbelievable. Sucks that its $249, which is an expense I can do without right now. Now if someone were to get it for me as a gift …. *hint* - the black one

Went to Golfsmith during lunch today and got me a putter. Finally, my golf bag is beginning to look decent. Now I have a set of irons, and a putter. All I need next is a driver and a set of fairway/utility woods and I’m done. I really wanted the TaylorMade Rossa Daytona CGB ($129) putter but they didn’t have the 33″ in stock, so I went for my second choice - the Odyssey DFX 6600 ($69). Tried it at the shop, it putts ok, the face is a little harder than the TM Rossa or the Odyssey White Hot, but it works for now. Plus I saved $60.

Quite a bit has happened in these 2 weeks, but I’m just too lazy to update you guys. Plus I was busy at work the last few weeks.
Ok, enough of my excuses - First things first - our trip to San Diego. We had a great Labor Day weekend vacation down in San Diego. We left on Friday morning and arrived at our downtown hotel at about 3pm. We then drove to La Jolla to visit the Torrey Pines Golf Course, which as beautiful. Since we didn’t bring our clubs we just bought a few Torrey Pines merchandise. Dinner that evening was in Del Mar, at a restaurant called “The Americana”. On Saturday we went to the San Diego Zoo, the place where I had always wanted to visit. Now that I’ve done it, I feel cheated. It’s overrated - first it wasn’t a big zoo, and there weren’t that many animals anyway. Oh well. I took lots of pictures though, and it was fun sitting that aerial tram, and going for a guide bus ride round the zoo. Both Doug and I bought a Panda T-shirt each, and D got a shot glass. We went to Little Italy in downtown San Diego for our dinner - The Indigo Grill - which was nice. Sunday we had breakfast at Mission Bay Park, and being there made me want to go get a boat or a jet ski - I love coastal activities and it would be nice to live near the coast in San Diego. They have so many beaches, not as chilly as the ones you find here in the Bay Area. We then drove north to visit our Aunt in Irvine, stopping along the way at Encinitas to visit a cool chocolatier place, and the farmer’s market. We also made stops at Anaheim, and Garden Grove. It was an 85 mile drive from San Diego to Irvine, and we arrived at our Aunt’s at around 5pm. She and her husband cooked us a GREAT dinner with so much food, all yummy. We ate till our stomachs cried out for help. LOL. On Monday we almost didn’t make it for our flight, coz I thought it was a 12:40pm flight, but turned out to be 12:10pm. Good thing the security checkpoint wasn’t packed, and we made it!
That’s basically our short little vacation to San Diego. I would love to visit there again, next time, to play the golf courses there, and maybe get a hotel by the beach in La Jolla.
