Yep, Rebecca’s going to be 2 months old in a week, and man has she grown! In the beginning she was all about crying, sleeping, eating, but after about a month she started to show signs of interacting with her surroundings - she began to notice things around her, and loves to stare into your face when you carry her. Also, she used to smile after feeding, or when she was sleeping, but now she makes all those cute baby sounds when you sing or talk to her, and I love it when she gets all cheeky-eyed, and opens her mouth real big like she really thinks your jokes are funny … precious!

If you have seen her photo gallery, you would have already known that she’s totally hooked on the three lambs on top of her playard. She moves her arms and legs in delight when you move them, and stares at them intently with her big brown eyes. We also bought her a lullaby toy with looney tunes characters, and just last night I had to wind that thing up 5 to 6 times coz she was staring at it so intently. Every time when it stops she would coo as if to will it to move again. If I don’t wind it up again she’ll start showing her displeasure. What can I say, Miss Princess gets what she wants!

I’m starting a “Daily Site Discovery” category where I will post a new interesting site that I’ve discovered that day. To start off, the site I discovered today is called Rollyo. You can create your own “searchroll”, which is defined as “… collection of the sites you trust and find useful.” Basically its a list of links where you can share with the public. Basic bookmarking tool clothed with a fancy name.

Apple has sent out an invitation to select media, including iLounge, to a special event that will be held at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California on February 28th. The invitation, which only features an iCal-like calendar image, reads: “Come see some fun new products from Apple.”

Bernie says: Apple never ceases to entice consumers with cool nifty stuff. The suspense if killing me! Just 1 week more!

My two ratties Charlotte and Cayenne finally got to leave the house and meet the outside world again. Poor little ratties. I feel so bad that they had to stay home because of me, but there wasn’t anybody who was able to take them out for walks but me. Anyway we went to the Milpitas Dog Park with my Mom. As we approached the park, C&C started to whine really dramatically and loudly. Too much pent-up energy from one month of not getting outdoors. When we reached the park I decided to take them for a walk around the area before letting them into the doggy park, for I knew they would go crazy with all that energy. That proved to be good for them, and they were somewhat calmer when they entered the park.

However, about 10 minutes after we got in, a brown cocker spaniel came into the area. His name is George. The minute he entered, Charlotte came to sniff him, and when I saw the tense posture of Charlotte, I knew something was about to happen - sure enough, within a few seconds, Charlotte attacked George - no bite marks though, just some tense and angry growling. I had to put her on the leash as I didn’t want to risk another attack that I couldn’t control. So as long as George was in the park, Charlotte was on the leash. The minute she tried to lock eyes at George I corrected her. I’m sure this attack was also attributed to all that pent-up energy from not getting out for a month. We were hoping that George would leave soon, but after waiting about half and hour, another cocker spaniel came into the park! Oh well, we had no choice but to leave. Poor Charlotte. I wonder what’s it about cocker spaniels that she’s so pissed about. There were other situations in other parks where she would act aggressively towards cockers. I just don’t get it.

Today we had a little outing with Rebecca. Though she was definitely too young to remember this “monumental” event, she sure was interested in her surroundings, though it didn’t last long, as she started sleeping when the car was in motion, and even in the stroller. She only woke up when it was time for her feeding. First we had lunch at McCarthy Ranch, and went to Union City’s Babies R Us for shopping. She was so comfy laying in her car seat and pushed around attached to the stroller. I finally got to experience what it takes to bring children out - you got to bring so much stuff, like diapers, wipes, milk, napkins, extra clothing, blankets in case it gets cold out etc etc. - not to mention the stroller took up more than half of the boot space of our car. I also finally saw the need for a larger vehicle.

It was a fun day out, and I’m sure Rebecca enjoyed it.

I’m subscribed to Amber Mac’s “Inside the Net” podcast, and this week Amber and Leo interviews Alex Bard of Goowy.com. So I went the website and signed up. Looks very promising, the interface is very easy to understand, and I feel comfortable navigating through the menus. This is definitely something I will use on a regular basis. Do check it out at goowy.com.

I almost bought the Japanese version of this game when it came out last year, but I think I’ll wait a couple more months for the US version, which, according to Gamestop, the relase date is March 21st, 2006. It has a pretty nice cover too! Katamari Rocks!

Very nice ressource collection for web developper. Include creativity section.

Bernie says: What a useful resource!

At Amphetameme, we’ve been trying to figure out what Apple’s up to next. We think it’s a full-screen, touchscreen iPod that also happens to connect to every damn thing under the sun. We think it’s also likely this (the new one we think will show up in April) or the next generation to come is a phone.

Bernie says: Interesting speculation. I’m all for it!

I’ve been on and off Caffeine ever since I got pregnant with Rebecca (used to drink at least 4 cups of coffee a day!), and I told Doug that all I want for Valentine’s Day was for him to get me a Venti Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks. And he did.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

It’s so hard to find the time to update my blog these days, though I’ve got lots to write, especially updates on Rebecca. She had her one month checkup yesterday and got her 2nd Hep shot. She’s now 10.13lbs and a length of 23 inches. She’s growing!

My Mom’s living with us now, and we spend the day taking turns carrying her. The minute we put her down onto her crib or playard, she would squirm in annoyance and start crying, and we have to pick her up again. She loves it when we swing her from side to side and patting her bum. Her favorite white noise is running water, go figure.

Rebecca has also started to take note of her surroundings as well. She would stare into your eyes, and smile if you talk babytalk to her. I love it when she smiles, she looks so sweet! She notices the lambs hanging in her playard and smiles at them too. Cute! I could stare at her all day! LOL!

The Olympics in Torino, Italy starts today! I’m one of those who love to watch events like this, though I know some people might find it boring. Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics, Tour de France, I watch them all. I’m a fan of Apolo Ohno (Short Track) and I hope he gets gold again this time. Other events that I like are ski jumping and snow boarding. Be sure to catch the opening ceremony tonight. Ciao!

Well, it seems that a 1GB Nano is upod us. This explains why the US Apple store was down at the time of this being written. It seems that the Australian store jumped the gun and uploaded the specifications sheet early.
