This weekend we took Rebecca to Shoreline Park in Mountain View. It was a great day, everybody was out taking walks, sitting on the grass, having a good time. Ahh, we Californians cannot live without the sun. We are all just happy that its back. Click here for more pictures.

She actually chuckled!

When I see you smile …
Originally uploaded by berniechew.com.

This evening I was playing with Rebecca using her toy doggie. As I moved the doggie closer to her chest and made a funny sound, she started chucking or giggling. First time I’m hearing this! It was a special moment. I will remember to record it next time I hear it.

Rebecca’s cute little face in the evening. Today was warm, so she went without her gloves and booties. I love the feel of her cute fingers and toes.

Not a cloud in the sky

“March Wetness” has made everyone gloomy and bored. Today we finally saw the true signs of Spring – clear blue skies, sunny weather, and warm temperatures. It gets better this weekend. We might take Rebecca to the park.

15,000 Mile service and repainting

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Last week I brought my TL for its B Service, and today it was my RSX’s turn. Ugh, its just like having twins – you have to pay double each time. As i waited for my ride, I saw the MDX in Sage Green Pearl (SGP). We’ve been thinking of getting the MDX sometime soon (to replace the RSX), and I was set of Taffeta White until I saw this new color. It wasn’t too green, more like deep greenish grey. Not bad at all. Ok so I’ve changed my mind. Now I want the SGP with Ebony interior, and Navi.

I’ve also been toying with the idea of repainting my Miata. It’s collectin cobwebs now, but its springtime, the rain has gone away, and its time to go topless! The paint on it isn’t all that great, and I’m thinking that if I wax it with zaino, its not going to bring out the shine anyway coz of the old abused paint. I wonder how much it’ll cost to repaint the car, judging that its a small car, and I’ll want the same factory color, so I guess no dismantling of car parts?

So many web apps, so little time

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

With the advent of AJAX, web 2.0 and the emergence of social websites, there has been a slew of web 2.0 apps on the Internet. Just visit Ajaxian, and there’s at least like one web app a day. So far I’ve tried a few of them, but I just couldn’t keep up. I particularly like Protopage, which is an online desktop where you can designate each page you create as public or private. Doug and I used that page to post stuff that we want to share with each other, like links, notes , etc. The cool thing about it is its versatility. You can literally embed javascript or HTML code, or even a whole website within a widget. Do check it out.

I want to say that I love Flickr. I’ve spent a lot of time on Flickr everyday just viewing all the lovely pictures that people have taken. Flickr Rules! Again, this photo gallery webapp is versatile and flexible – with the Flickr API you can create just about anything with your photos on flickr. Check out FD’s Flickr Toys, you’ll know what I mean.

After Z-2 Pro Frnt Lft View
Originally uploaded by berniechew.

I was expecting my arms to ache more, but I don’t feel that bad today. Spent the mornings of Saturday and Sunday cleaning the inside, and outside of my RSX – vacuumed the interior, wiped the dashboard, cleared all the rubbish, and for the exterior, cleaned the wheels, claybared the paint, and added a layer of Z-2 Pro with ZFX from Zaino, and finished it with Z-6 gloss enhancer. I’m pretty impressed with the results.

This Zaino stuff is really good, I would think its better than Meguiar’s NXT wax.

I still need to add a couple more layers of polish to it though. Check it out.

Rebecca in San Francisco

Today was Rebecca’s first visit to San Francisco, the furthest she has traveled so far. Even though she slept most of the time, she was looking at the things around her with great interest. Click here for more pictures.

Tasty Hand
Originally uploaded by berniechew.

I came home this evening and discovered that Rebecca learned a new habit – sucking on her mitt. If only her ears could talk, they’ll say, “Finally! no more blisters!”

The funny thing is, she is only interested when her mitts are on, she showed no interest in sucking on her actual hand.

From these shots, it looks like you can play as Stewie, Brian, Quagmire and even Death. A lot of the quirky adult humor also remains intact.
