According to a Skype developer, an old and unstable version of Skype for Mac has been leaked onto file sharing networks across the globe. “It will destroy your contacts and other data”.

Sounds pretty fancy, I know. I don’t know what that was until last weekend. We were at the Farmer’s Market and there was a booth called Natasha’s Health Nut Cookies. They had samples and I tried their chocolate flavored cake, and I was sold. It was so chocolatey and had a hint of mint in it. Yummy! Apparently their shop is located in San Mateo, and the cakes are all homemade. I hope to get more this weekend.

oh joy…now your girlfriends can play along (or boyfriends, whatever) and try to beat you at Tetris or Mario Kart while happily looking awesome holding a pink brink in their hands.

I guess its a matter of time before the color variations come out. I’ll still love white.

Standing at 5 months?

I took this picture of Rebecca this morning. She’s always happy in the morning. Maybe it’s from a good night’s sleep.

Here’s the backyard of our new home. I’m pretty happy with the size - you can see how small Charlotte and Cayenne looks in this pic. They love their new hang out too.

My New "Toy" 1

I just did an utterly stupid thing and “synced” my Address Book contents of my iPod (which has all the contacts) and my Powerbook (which has NOTHING), and Poof! - my contacts all disappeared, just like that - all 200 odd of them! Argh. This has led me to order myself a filofax. I used to mock people who still use pen and paper, but now I realize the reliability of the simple stuff. I plan to use my filofax together with my powerbook from now on.

Rebecca at the Farmers Market

We visited the Farmer’s Market today and Rebecca had such a fun time. She was so excited to see so many people and colorful things around her.

It’s interesting to see how Rebecca interacts with her toys. She studies each one for a few minutes, then they all mysteriously ends up in her mouth.

Reb Blue

Weird as it may sound, Rebecca doesn’t have any blue outfits. Most of her stuff are either pink (lots of those), red, white, yellow, or green. On this particular day, I took pics of her tummy time on a blue background, with her blue “drool catcher”. and I think they turned out cute.

Last weekend was exhausting. We started our move to the new place on Friday (June 16) - started at around 9am in the morning with the help of professional movers, and completed moving all our stuff over at around 3pm. I couldn’t believe how many boxes we have - our 2 car garage is now scattered with boxes, mostly opened.

I had major feet issues due to the lifting of heavy stuff, and getting used to the hardwood floors throughout. They were swollen at the pressure points, and really painful. Anyway I’m just glad they are all better now.

I love the hardwood floors in the new place as compared to our old place which had pergo on the first floor and carpet on the second. We had professional cleaners clean and waxed the floors and now they are gleaming! Ahhh ..

Charlotte and Cayenne love the new place. On the very first night (Friday), Charlotte was a bit homesick - she crawled under the dining and just laid there. My guess is she was expecting us to go home, not realizing that this is her new home. Cayenne, as usual, as oblivious of anything around her. All she cares about is fun. She had no problem just plopping on our sofa (her usual spot) and slept. I guess she thinks that Charlotte would let her know if there are any changes. Oh the responsiblities of being Big Sis.

Rebecca is too little to know what’s going on, and fortunately she didn’t have much problems getting used to the new surroundings. One major issue we have now is the HEAT. The Bay Area is now experiencing a major heat wave, with temperatures going up to over 100 degrees in the southern part of the bay, as well as inland spots. I’m glad we are in the Peninsula area - it’s still rather warm, but bearable. Temperatures have reached the hight 80s around here. Last night we gave in to the heat and turned on the AC. That definitely helped. A LOT. I think we’ll be turning on the AC for a few more nights this week *wink*.

Having moved from a townhome to a single-family home, we are not used to the garbage collecting system. I now realize how we took the garbage collection at our old place for granted. We are major trash creators, paper towels, soiled diapers, leftover food, takeout boxes, pets waste, etc. We could easily fill a 10 gallon bin every night. It was easy in the old place - we just walked over to the main garbage collection area and threw all our trash there. Now since the garbage is collected once a week, and we are in charge of the garbage bin, things are different. We need to keep clean, make sure that food waste get covered so flies and ants don’t attack, and the smell doesn’t escape. This has made me really conscious about the waste we produce, which is actually a good thing, if you think about it. I’m starting to think more of recycling now.

I hope to get everything unpacked by this weekend, so we can move forward and enjoy our new place. Once everything’s settled I will also take pictures of our new home to post here.

Update: Found out it was a permissions issue and it seems that I need to use the web hosting company’s web interface to change it. The bottom line is, it’s solved. Hooray.

June 20, 2006:
Dang I seem to have a mod_rewrite problem happening on my blog. All my permalinks don’t work now. Ugh. Please check back soon.

Today is the Summer Solstice - in the northern hemisphere, it is the longest day of the year when the sun is farthest north. More daylight is always welcome. The heat sucks though. Happy Summer, everyone.

My powerbook that is. While I’m eager to get my hands on the new Macbook, I’m really glad I got a new 100GB hard drive for my powerbook. After trying to pry open the darn thing to swap out the hard drive with the help of my friend, we gave up and Doug brought it to a shop to get it fixed. It came back yesterday all nice and clean, and I’m currently installing OS X Tiger on it. I’m whole again.
