Yesterday I was waiting on pins and needles to rush home to play my newly bought Sony PS3. When I got home, there was the box, one of the biggest Amazon boxes I’ve seen so far. I took a few box shots, nothing too fancy, I know I’m a late adopter, no one’s interested in seeing unboxing shots of PS3 that was released almost a year ago. First thing when I hooked up the PS3 was a message saying that it needed a system upgrade. Did that, and since I don’t have any playable games with me (PS3 games) I set up an account with the Playstation network and started browsing their online store of playable games, demos and trailers. I love the slick interface, of the PS3, it has a crisp feel to it, and being an owner of a PSP, I felt right at home with the navigational interface and style.

After putting Rebecca to bed I downloaded and played a few demos, bought a game (Piyotama), played with the free Gran Turismo HD game, and before I knew it it was 2am. I’m excited about Heavenly Sword, and I think Doug would like the new Dynasty Warriors Gundam mashup game by Koei and Namco-Bandai. Had to work the next day, so I stopped. But first impression of the system was definitely good, and I can’t wait to play Ninja Gaiden Sigma! Hell, with all the waiting from the game rental companies, I might just go BestBuy later and get myself a copy.

The only question is, when. Why, you ask? For Rock Band, for Ninja Gaiden, for Loco Roco, for Gran Turismo 5. Those are reasons enough.

I already have a DS Lite, a cracked on at that. But what’s more fun than having a limited edition Pokemon version????? Seems like you can only get one of those from Japan, and this guy in UK got his and posted all these cool pictures. I want I want!

My, this last month went by so fast! After that giant milestone of walking when she was 17 months, Rebecca’s 18th month was more of little changes in her personality, interaction with her surroundings, and diet. She’s started to eat the harder stuff as more teeth appeared. She’s also taking more people food, demanding a share when at the table. Twisting bottle caps off the plastic water bottles is her current “obssession”.

When she feels frustrated she shows it by throwing tantrums. She would fling her body backwards, scream, and throw her arms in different directions. When she did that one night, I was a little concerned and thought she might be having a nervous fit. She’d wanted to watch TV when it was already 10:30 at night. When I carried her to her room, she started her kicking and screaming. There’s nothing much I could do but to continue carrying her and swing her from side to side. Just let her cry. I remember one night when she cried until she fell asleep!

We went to many places this month, all of which presented a learning experience for Rebecca – Fruit picking, visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, enjoying concerts in the park, Children’s Discovery Museum, and even a trip to Six Flags!
