Rebecca’s 19 months old today
My, this last month went by so fast! After that giant milestone of walking when she was 17 months, Rebecca’s 18th month was more of little changes in her personality, interaction with her surroundings, and diet. She’s started to eat the harder stuff as more teeth appeared. She’s also taking more people food, demanding a share when at the table. Twisting bottle caps off the plastic water bottles is her current “obssession”.
When she feels frustrated she shows it by throwing tantrums. She would fling her body backwards, scream, and throw her arms in different directions. When she did that one night, I was a little concerned and thought she might be having a nervous fit. She’d wanted to watch TV when it was already 10:30 at night. When I carried her to her room, she started her kicking and screaming. There’s nothing much I could do but to continue carrying her and swing her from side to side. Just let her cry. I remember one night when she cried until she fell asleep!
We went to many places this month, all of which presented a learning experience for Rebecca - Fruit picking, visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, enjoying concerts in the park, Children’s Discovery Museum, and even a trip to Six Flags!
