Take the last syllable and say it twice
That’s exactly what Rebecca does now when it comes to repeating words. You tell her “Daddy”, and she says “Di Di”, and “Mommy” becomes “Mi Mi”. Dora is “Ra Ra”, water is “Ter Ter”. Well you get the picture. She’s 20 months old now, and getting very michievious. She sorta know what she can or cannot do, but she gets that gleam in her eye when she’s ready to do something bad, like dunk her books into the doggies’ water bowl.
We’ve started potty training, but it is slow. So far she hasn’t succeeded in going potty. Heck, we even got her potty training Elmo just so HE can “encourage” her to do the same. All I can say is, this takes time and patience.

Back around that age Sean suddenly became “Sean-sean” for a while.
Potty training takes a long time. She might be 3 by the time she gets it. Hang in there!

Thanks for the moral support. Now I know why they have diapers for 3 and up.

My oldest didn’t finish training until he was three and a half. What finally helped him get it was an egg timer. We taught him how to wind it up for an hour. When it rang it was his reminder to go potty.
