Twitter No More?

Is it just me or does http://www.twitter.com bring up a 500 Internal Server Error? I need my Twitter fix!

What to cook?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

I constantly find myself asking this question. It’s been a week since I restarted working from home, and I have to take care of Reb’s breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner.

For carbs I cycle between pasta, rice and noodles.
For meat, its either chicken, ground pork, ground beef, and ground turkey.
Vegetables include the squash family, broccoli, baby bok choi, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and carrots.
For flavor/accents, I use soy sauce, cheese, ketchup, and garlic.
Snacks are either waffles, crackers, wheat bread, or some other bread-type foods.

We have a juicer, and Reb gets a cup of fresh apple/pear/carrot juice almost once a day.

I would love to hear from moms who cook for their children what foods they cook for their little ones.

Flock 1.0

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Flock just announced their beta version of 1.0, which is a huge improvement from 0.9. I particularly love the new “People” left sidebar – I have my Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts added, and can access all of them by simply just clicking on the tabs. I can even update my tweets via Flock! I’m still using Firefox for Web Development testing, because of all the useful Add-ons (Firebug, Web Developer, etc) I have installed, and if only there’s full compatibility for all FF extensions, Flock would be perfect!

Best Birthday Present Ever

Friday, October 12th, 2007

I am totally in love with my new iMac, a birthday present from my awesome hubby. I’d initially pre-ordered from Amazon, enjoying the free shipping and gift certificate credits, BUT they only had the thing available from mid November. So on the evening of my big day, we went down to the nearest Apple Store and got one. Luckily they had it in stock. I was worried we had to wait again. I wasn’t aware they had a wireless (keyboard and mouse) option for $50 extra, which was a deal since I’d wanted to get wireless anyway. Got a $99 HP PhotoSmart printer which was part of the rebate offer. It didn’t have very good reviews on the Apple website, but after taking it out today and printing a couple of photos I’m pretty pleased with the quality.

Since Grandma was able to look after Rebecca, D and I sort of enjoyed a date night together. After the Apple Store we had a lovely dinner at a Japanese restuarant, my favorite food. We then enjoyed a nice walk around the area.

Now back to the iMac. This thing is super sexy and it screams to be seen. The screen is glossy, ultra clear, and just a joy to view. I’ve heard a lot of negative comments about glossy screens, but I gotta say I’m one of those who love it! My MBP has a matte screen, and I didn’t know how bland it looks until I stared into the face of the iMac. I’m going to opt for glossy screens next time.

Still as Dora-crazed as ever.
